Director, Beach Head Coach, Physiotherapist
Luka Senk
Luka brings a wealth of high-level experience and technical expertise to the beach volleyball court. As an NCCP Advanced Development Coach and a National Silver Medalist, he is committed to helping athletes elevate their performance through skillful instruction and a deep understanding of the game.
A former Varsity volleyball player and team captain at Wilfrid Laurier University, Luka earned several accolades including Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, and Academic All-Canadian honors. His playing career also includes time with the Junior Beach Volleyball National Team, along with Gold Medals at both the Regional and Provincial Beach Volleyball Games.
In addition to his coaching achievements—such as serving as Head Coach and Technical Director for Altitude Beach Volleyball and coaching for Team Ontario Beach—Luka has also been an alpine coach at Georgian Peaks. Outside of sport, he works locally as a Physiotherapist at Blue Mountain Physiotherapy, bringing a well-rounded approach to athlete development that blends performance training with injury prevention.

Director, 16U Avalanche Coach, Beach Coach
Kelly Senk
Kelly draws on her extensive background in competitive beach volleyball to create a fun, supportive, and empowering environment for athletes. As a Certified NCCP Development Coach, she is passionate about developing strong, confident female athletes both in sport and in life. Beyond volleyball, Kelly is also an accomplished distance runner who enjoys racing everything from 5Ks to half marathons on both roads and trails.
She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where she competed for five years on the Varsity volleyball team, earning recognition as team captain, MVP, and Rookie of the Year.
Kelly’s coaching and athletic achievements include leading the 16U Altitude Volleyball team as Head Coach, working with Volleyball Canada as a Youth March Break Beach Coach, and coaching at the Madawaska Camp Beach Program. As a player, she captured a Gold Medal in indoor volleyball and a Silver Medal in beach volleyball at the World Masters Games, along with a Bronze Medal at the Beach Volleyball Summer Games.

Beach Volleyball Development Coach
Lyla Elsley
Lyla has been playing volleyball since Grade 7, starting out with the Collingwood Black Diamonds. After two seasons there, she moved on to play for the Barrie Elites from 15U to 18U, where she continued to grow her skills and love for the game. She received the OVA Award of Excellence in her 18U year. She was captain and MVP every season for Collingwood Collegiate Institute (CCI), leading her team with energy, confidence, and a strong team spirit. Since 2021, Lyla has also been competing on the Ontario Beach Tour and is currently still a beach athlete. From 2019 to 2023, Lyla attended Madawaska Volleyball Camp, first as a camper and later as a coach. She made the Madawaska All-Star team in both 2022 and 2023. Lyla is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Queen’s University.

16U Avalanche Coach
Laura Powers
Laura Powers grew up in Collingwood and started her volleyball journey at Collingwood collegiate Institute. She played club for Georgian Bay Vista in Midland, and went on to play for regional and provincial teams. From there she received a scholarship to Boston College, where she played for two years, and then finished her career at University of Toronto for two seasons. It is there that she won OUA champions for the 2004-2005 year, was Academic All Canadian and part of the OUA All-star team for the 2004-2005 season. In her off seasons from indoor volleyball she played beach volleyball in the OVA circuit.
She currently lives in the Blue Mountains with her family, loves any sport that takes her outside, and is a physiotherapist.

16U Ascent Coach
Ian MacLachlan
Ian fell in love with the sport of volleyball during high school in rural Nova Scotia. He graduated from Dalhousie University with his Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education degrees. Being active, coaching, and working with kids have been focal points of his career.
Whether teaching in the Caribbean, Australia or here in Collingwood and surrounding communities, he has been active in coaching, promoting sport, physical literacy and youth engagement.
Ian has experience coaching for various clubs in the area, and this season he is super excited to join the Altitude Team and to help continue growing a love for this amazing sport within our community.

15U Landslide Coach
Jolyne Simonek
Jolyne is a multi-disciplined athlete and coach, competing in various individual and team sports throughout her athletic career.
Outside of school volleyball she played Club with the Collingwood Cubs, Guelph Grizzlies and Barrie Elites, winning gold at nationals. She also attended development training camps with the Waterloo Warriors, Madawaska Volleyball Camp and the KW Predators.
Since then, her love for the sport has only grown with a special interest in high performance skills and development. She has previously coached the Beaver Valley Public School volleyball team, and Georgian Bay Secondary School volleyball team.
Jolyne graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science.
She looks forward to bringing a rounded mental and physical approach to the game to help athletes build and discover their potential within the sport.

14U Alpine Coach and Youth Development Coach
Julie Nolan
Julie participated in the Varsity volleyball program at the University of Waterloo in 2003 and graduated from the Environmental Studies- Planning program in 2008. Volleyball has always been one of her favourite sports and is excited to grow the game in Collingwood. Julie previously coached indoor volleyball for the Toronto Leaside U14 Team during the 2012/13 season and has been a certified Skate Canada coach since 2006. She has also recently been coaching power skating and girls hockey fundamentals in the South Georgian Bay area. Julie has vast experience coaching children, youth, and adults and has an energetic and friendly approach to empower athletes to feel confident in growing their skills.

14U Alpine Coach
Sian Leyshon-Doughty
Sian is originally from London, played for high school and also the local club called Juno/Kineldiego at the time, then the London volleyball club
She attended Madawaska Volleyball Camp for 4 years, coached at it for 36 years 1979-2015
In addition, attended Montana State University and played for 4 years
She has coached at summer camps 1982-1992 in various places in Ontario, Michigan, Nebraska
Sian loves volleyball and coaching and has played women's club in London, Guelph, Scarborough, Peel 1984-2000, played beach in the '80s-early'90s
From 1989-2017 she coached Peel Selects girls, high school girls and boys.

13U Heatwave Coach
Tyler Chatterson
Tyler’s passion for sports has been a defining aspect of his life, beginning with his high school years as a competitive ski racer. He competed on the Southern Ontario team, then for CCI winning gold at OFFSA. Tyler transitioned into coaching, spending two seasons at Osler Bluff, where he shared his knowledge and passion with the next generation of athletes.
After high school, Tyler decided to try volleyball, playing as the starting middle for three years at Wilfred Laurier University (WLU), alongside Luka.
Tyler enjoys spending time with his family and watching his girls develop life skills through sport. He is really looking forward to joining the Altitude team.

13U Heatwave Coach
Julie Davis
Julie Davis has dedicated much of her life to sports, competing in various disciplines such as ringette, basketball, and volleyball during high school. These experiences taught her the valuable skill of balancing sports with other aspects of life. As an adult, Julie continues to enjoy playing soccer, beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, and skiing.
Julie began her coaching journey many years ago, initially working with elementary school teams and junior girls' volleyball. More recently, she served as an assistant coach for the U10 girls' soccer team with Collingwood United and coached intermediate girls' volleyball at the elementary level. Her extensive experience also includes serving as a team manager for the Osler girls' ski teams and the U15 Altitude Avalanche indoor volleyball team.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University. Her professional background includes treating upper extremity injuries with a focus on hand injuries. Julie is thrilled to join the Altitude coaching team and is eager to contribute to the growth of the sport in her hometown.
